Coherent Corp. on Monday announced Jim Anderson will become CEO, succeeding the retiring Vincent D. Mattera Jr.
Anderson comes to Coherent (NYSE: COHR) from Lattice Semiconductors, where he had been president and CEO. He has also held other leadership roles before joining Lattice in 2018, including as SVP and GM of the Computing and Graphics unit of Advanced Micro Devices as well as roles at LSI Corp., Broadcom and Intel.
“Jim’s business acumen and technical capability, coupled with his extensive experience transforming complex global businesses to deliver above-market growth and profitability, make him the idea leader to steer Coherent through its next chapter amidst a rapidly changing market,” said Coherent Board of Directors Chair Enrico DiGirolamo.
Mattera announced in February he was stepping down as chair and CEO of the Saxonburg-based Coherent, which had $5.2 billion in annual revenue. It makes semiconductors and lasers among other high-tech products and has more than 26,000 employees.
