Hong Phan, who spearheaded expansion to Asia for Hawaii-based DataHouse Consulting, Inc., was named CEO of the company on Wednesday.

The title was vacant at the Islands' largest information technology consulting company since 2012.

Phan, formerly the DataHouse co-president, joined the company three years ago and created sister company DataHouse Asia in her native country of Vietnam. Over that time, the company's revenue doubled, DataHouse said; Mainland revenue grew to represent close to 40% of total revenue.

“I am both excited and humbled by this new role," Phan said in a statement. "I am very fortunate to work with talented and inspiring teams in the U.S. and Vietnam, and together, we will help realize DataHouse’s full potential as a technology powerhouse."

In under two years, DataHouse Asia grew from three employees to just under 100, which enabled growth for U.S. operations through added resources.

Creighton Arita, owner and CEO of DataHouse parent company ‘ike Hawaii, said in a statement he's been amazed by Hong's knack for driving new partnerships with companies like AWS, FPT, Adobe, KPMG and Peraton.

“She has proven her ability to put together a strategy for DataHouse and execute in a way that ultimately drives shareholder value like we’ve never seen before," Arita said.

DataHouse's most recent CEO was Clyde Shiigi, who retired in 2012, the company told Pacific Business News. In recent years, Eddie Ontai and Hong have run the company as co-presidents.

"Hong was appointed CEO to reflect her global focus, and Eddie continues to run DataHouse’s daily operations in Hawaii as president," a spokesperson told PBN.

With Phan's global connections, DataHouse envisions becoming a tech hub between East and West. In her CEO role, she will be looking outward for additional strategic partnerships to help DataHouse compete domestically.

“When Hong joined DataHouse three years ago, we quickly realized that she operates at a global level in the IT field," Ontai stated. "Hawaii is very fortunate to attract such world-class talent. And we are looking forward to our journey forward as we continue to have a positive impact in Hawaii, the mainland and globally.
