Symba has added to its executive team with the hiring of a new chief technology officer.

The Louisville-based startup, which won a spot in both Vogt Awards and Render Competition last year, recently named John Arstingstall as CTO. Symba was founded in 2019 by Evan Knowles, Ryan Harris and Tanner Wilcox, and has developed a mobile-first customer relationship management platform for real estate agents.

Arstingstall, who will be based in Louisville, brings more than a decade worth of proptech, e-commerce and enterprise experience to the company's product team and will help it continue to bring valuable solutions to the market, according to a news release. He has been the technical leader for several startups, namely Indatus and Downstream, which were acquired by RealPage and Jungle Scout, respectively.

After Downstream was acquired by Jungle Scout, Arstingstall joined its team as a senior engineer and helped to scale the company's Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to power global products with users in over 50 countries, the release continued.

Arstingstall said he is excited to have the opportunity to help build the technological foundation, culture and engineering team at Symba.

“Having seen the current state of software in the real estate industry firsthand from my wife who is a realtor, it is apparent that there is an opportunity to provide a modern tool for realtors to manage their business with a user experience that consumers have come to expect," he said in the release. "After meeting with the Symba founders and seeing the amount of user research they have done, I'm confident that their vision and goals are aligned with what the market needs."
