CryptoLeague, a Wynwood startup launched by serial entrepreneur Rodolfo Saccoman, secured millions in funding to build an investment platform for Web3 communities.

Several investors participated in the company's $2.2 million seed round, including Florida Funders, New York-based Great Oaks Venture Capital, and San Francisco-based Side Door Ventures and Darling Ventures. CryptoLeague will use the capital injection to grow its 18-person team and build out its platform.

“We are delivering Web3 software and tools to unlock the wisdom of communities, enabling individual investors to come together, to belong... and to outperform in a financial system where the deck is stacked in favor of large institutions," said Saccoman, the CEO of the company.

CryptoLeague has not released many details about how the company works. According to its website, CryptoLeague "unleashes the power of community investing" for cryptocurrency and NFT enthusiasts to make investing easier. The goal is to make investing social and accessible to the masses. Right now, there's a waitlist to join.

The startup, founded in late 2021, recently opened a headquarters office at 164 N.W. 26th St. in Wynwood Arts District.

Saccoman is a longtime South Florida entrepreneur who previously co-founded ventures such as MyTherapyJournal.com, AI analytics firm AdMobilize and its spin-off, Matrix Labs. Its co-founders are Gleb Chuvpilo, managing partner at Thundermark Capital, and tech entrepreneur Jeff Nuckols.

Web3 refers to a decentralized version of the web that proponents believe represents the next phase of the internet. The idea is platforms and apps built on Web3 will be owned by users, instead of gatekeepers such as large corporations. Blockchain, the same technology behind cryptocurrency and NFTs, powers Web3 platforms.

CryptoLeague is the latest Web3 company to establish itself in Miami, one of the top U.S. markets for crypto-related job postings. London cryptocurrency exchange Blockchain.com and San Francisco's OkCoin are among the other crypto ventures to establish a presence South Florida over the past year.
