Irving-based B.I.G. Logistics has acquired Mexico-based companies Xcell Logistic Services, Inc. and Xcell Logistics Corporation to further its growth along the Southern border, according to a news release.
Through the acquisition, the newly combined companies will manage international and domestic air, ground transport, ocean, custom brokerage and project cargo.
"The acquisition of Xcell by B.I.G. Logistics signifies the importance of Xcell's presence in cross border market and will only catapult the company to higher success," Roberto Sosa, founder and chairman of Xcell Logistics Companies, said in the release. "This is proof of the dedication over the last 25 years and will help with the footprint B.I.G. and the group is looking to achieve globally."
Both Xcell companies offer temperature-controlled warehouses, fulfillment, border brokerage, light manufacturing and e-commerce services in Mexican ports and hub cities along the U.S. border.
"B.I.G. now operates on the border with our legacy station in El Paso and an added Laredo presence, as well as an additional sevens nations in Mexico via this acquisition," Vinod Baliga, C.E.O. of B.I.G., said in the release. "This positions B.I.G. Logistics as a dominant supply chain logistics solutions provider on both sides of the border."
Founded in 2016, B.I.G. Logistics is a third-party logistics provider, technology warehouse and I.T. management platform located throughout Texas.
