Plano-based Fortress Solutions has appointed John Shelnutt as CEO, the company announced on Monday.
Shelnutt is replacing Brendon Mills, who has resigned from the position.
“I am very excited for this opportunity and am looking forward to immersing myself in the operations and engaging with our customers around the globe after having served as an independent director for the past year,” Shelnutt said in a news release. “Fortress has an incredibly deep bench of talent that has gained the respect of the largest telecom companies in the world and other providers of critical infrastructure for many years,”
Shelnutt has served as an independent director for Fortress since 2021. Before joining the company, Shelnutt served as a senior executive of California-based startup Blue Danube Systems. He also serves on the board of directors for ADDvantage Technologies (Nasdaq: AEY).
“John is a strong leader and is incredibly strategic, which I observed first-hand while serving as AT&T’s president of supply chain and fleet operations and as a board member alongside him at ADDvantage Technologies,” Tim Harden, an independent company director, said in the release. “His background will only enhance the company’s competencies and ability to service its customers.”
Founded in 2002, Fortress Solutions provides telecommunications services in digital infrastructure deployment, logistical support, monitoring and analysis.
In Nov. 2015, Fortress Solutions acquired Lessburg-Florida-based Restor Telecom to create the second-largest worldwide provider of telecom equipment repair services.
