As can be seen by the sprawling suburbs that surround the urban cores of DFW, growth is part of the region's DNA. And that also applies to the businesses that call the Metroplex home.

A large number of those are getting some recognition, landing spots on the annual Inc. 5000 list, which features the fastest-growing privately held companies in the country.

“The companies on this year's Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business," said Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk in a statement. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

Looking at the percent of revenue growth between 2016 and 2019, Inc. ranks companies that were privately held, for-profit and independent of any subsidiaries or divisions as of 2019. This year, with revenue growth ranging between 17,921 percent and 55 percent – which, even on the low end is still significant considering business had to have at least $100,000 in revenue in 2016 to qualify – 158 North Texas businesses landed on the list. One hundred of those were repeat honorees.

Taking the second highest spot for a Texas company on the 2020 Inc. 5000 list is Dallas-based Case Energy Partners, an oil and gas mineral rights and royalties acquisition company, which took the No. 7 spot overall. Case was followed by health care real estate investment company Napali Capital and application development company Allata, which took the No. 21 and No. 52 spots, respectively.

For North Texas, the companies featured on the list produced $8 billion, with a median growth rate of 151 percent. In addition, collectively the companies created more 16,509 jobs.

Among the list were a number of local startups that have featured in NTX Inno and other local publications, including Asset Panda (No. 651), Alkami (No. 903), o9 Solutions (No. 947), ParkHub (No. 1,218), CRITICALSTART (No. 1,566), Spotio (No. 1,635), Poo-Pourri (No. 4,407) and OutMatch (No. 4,678).

“Our goal at OutMatch is to build products and deliver a solution that is simple, smart, and human,” said OutMatch Chief Solutions Officer Robin Stenzel in a statement. “It's an honor to be recognized for the hard work everyone at OutMatch does. We see this recognition as confirmation that our mission is needed and necessary in this new world.”

All in all, Inc. shows that the 5,000 companies on the list generated $209.7 billion in revenue over the three years and added more than 582,000 jobs across the country.
