Compliance services provider Schellman opened a new office on Kenny Road last fall, a space it argues is the region's coolest.
While the Tampa-based firm, which specializes in attestation and compliance services, isn't what one would call a startup, it is taking an innovative approach to staffing up in Central Ohio. The Columbus office is part of Schellman's Emerging Talent Program, a new venture to recruit and retain new college graduates.
"This new office will not only give recent college graduates from across the country in the fields of IT, accounting/finance, and analytics an exceptional opportunity to learn on the job, but they’ll also have the opportunity to receive coaching on the other behavioral and emotional aspects that come with starting a career – all in their own space," Nate Kocan, the firm's Columbus manager, said in an email.
The firm is now up to more than 50 employees, and it's already expanding the office to further scale the program.
