Main Street Ventures dished out its largest round of grants to date recently.

The Over-the-Rhine staple announced it supplied $256,000 between its two flagship grants to 11 female-founded businesses within the Tri-State. The funding was supplied to Main Street Ventures by the Cincinnati City Council, which gave the organization $1 million received via the American Rescue Plan Act.

"Data shows that closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship helps create more stable households, healthier communities, and stronger local economies," Councilwoman Liz Keating said in a statement. "Supporting women-owned businesses has a direct impact on children and families and the impact of this program can benefit our city immensely."
