Coworking firm to open fourth local location at region’s busiest mall: PHOTOS

A coworking firm with a growing Greater Cincinnati presence is readying to open its fourth local location inside the region’s premier shopping mall this fall, and the space will feature a new concept from an Ohio-based brewer.

Cohatch, a Columbus-based coworking company founded in 2016, is opening inside Kenwood Towne Centre at 7875 Montgomery Road, inside a long-vacant storefront adjacent to Tiffany’s, Lululemon and Louis Vuitton. The location — more than 10,000 square feet with 1,600-square-feet of outdoor patio space — will serve community members, entrepreneurs, startups, nonprofits and larger companies looking for satellite office space.

Cohatch is collaborating with Brookfield Properties, the management company behind the mall, on the location, which is projected to open by the end of October, Cohatch spokesman Corey Kerr told me. It’s part of an overall growth plan by Cohatch to open 10 total locations in the Cincinnati area.

Locally, Cohatch operates in Hyde Park and Mason and has a location under construction on Mill Street in Milford.

“We couldn’t be more excited about bringing life to what had been an unused space,” Megan Dotzauer, Cincinnati market leader for Cohatch, said in a release. “Our Kenwood project is a bit of a different approach than the one we took when renovating the Hyde Park and Milford structures but reinforces our commitment to re-envisioning and redeveloping viable, vacant real estate.”

The Cohatch concept features amenities that balance work, family, well-being and community. Cohatch Kenwood will include private offices, coworking spaces, meeting rooms, special event space and the outdoor patio.

The building will also include a simulator with 13 sports, including golf.

Dining options will be provided by Columbus-based North High Brewing. North High already serves up food and beer at several Cohatch locations in Columbus and Cleveland, as well as in Hyde Park, but North High will unveil its new North High Kitchen and Bar concept in Kenwood. Further details were not provided.

“The concept is entirely new, and the brand, menu and brew are the prototype for what we’ll carry into other new spaces.” Gavin Meyers, co-founder of North High Brewing, said in the release.

Space at Cohatch Kenwood will be available to the community for personal events after work hours and on weekends.

The Kenwood addition will bring Cohatch’s total Cincinnati-area square footage to 40,000. Companywide, Cohatch has 25 locations open or under development, with total square footage of more than 330,000.

Kenwood Towne Centre is the region’s biggest shopping mall, with 1.16 million square feet of retail space and more than 180 specialty shops.
