An accelerator backed by St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Northern Kentucky University has picked its next class.

This week, SoCap Accelerate unveiled the six participants of its second cohort, launching this spring. The program is aimed at helping health care-related companies grow and scale their businesses. Participants will be mentored on developing customers and building a product as well as marketing, legal and accounting guidance.

Unlike other accelerators, SoCap does not require founders give up any equity and does not supply funding.

Startups included in the new class are:

  • Re-Assist: Re-Assist specializes in a unique referral management application that ensures individuals in transitions of care choice.
  • Carefeed: Carefeed offers a HIPAA-secure platform that digitizes and distributes any materials health care providers would like to share with their patients, patient's families, staff or referral sources.
  • HealthGuard: HealthGuard is the company behind DecipherRisk, which helps hospitals manage and maintain their cyber risks.
  • Health Match 360: Health Match 360 connects licensed and experienced therapists with clients in need. Clients can use the platform to learn more about available therapists so they match with the one best suited for their needs.
  • Jamaa Health: Jamaa Health allows patients to connect with local Black physicians and health care providers in the hopes of helping to eliminate health care disparities.
  • Matrix Innovations: Matrix Innovations aims to solve everyday issues for health care workers. For instance, the company's first product, the Bundler, allows workers to clip together various tubing, wires and IV lines to keep things more organized.

SoCap is led by executive director Rico Grant, founder of CrownMob, a startup marketplace for Black haircare, and a longtime mentor of startups in the region.
