An Ohio-based startup founded by a University of Cincinnati graduate is adding to its C-suite as it looks to expand its product portfolio in 2021.
IncludeHealth, which is developing digital musculoskeletal care and training platforms, announced Anang Chokshi as its new chief clinical officer, effective Jan. 4. Chokshi is the first to hold the position, said founder Ryan Eder, a 2006 UC graduate, and bolsters IncludeHealth’s clinical and technical expertise.
“Anang’s breadth of clinical, technological and personal experience is a true asset,” Eder said in a release. “He will help reign in a new era of technology-enabled services.”
Chokshi, previously chief clinical officer at San Diego-based Reflexion Health, which pioneered the remote delivery of physical therapy through 3D cameras, is a double-board certified orthopedic and sports therapist. At IncludeHealth, Chokshi will focus on leading clinical applications, workflows and partnerships for the company.
He will oversee the clinical strategy of product development and clinical implementation at the customer site, the release said, as IncludeHealth continues to expand its technology into movement-correction products related to a partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
In 2019, IncludeHealth entered into a licensing agreement with Cincinnati Children’s for a digital health technology it developed called aNMT. Pronounced animate, and short for Augmented Neuromuscular Training, the digital coach, when combined with IncludeHealth’s cloud platform and data analytics, can objectively measure and correct movement.
IncludeHealth is currently working to pilot and commercialize the technology.
“IncludeHealth is creating a profound platform allowing clinicians to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time,” Chokshi said. “Pairing technology with care is the new frontier.”
IncludeHealth, which started with an original mission to make fitness accessible for all, has a product portfolio that includes IncludeStrength, an all-inclusive exercise machine; IncludeCloud, a medical-grade, HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure that allows users to develop online protocols for a workout; and IncludeConnect, a palm-sized sensor that attaches to exercise equipment to collect data in real-time.
IncludeHealth has around 20 employees based in Cincinnati and Columbus. This past fall, the startup announced plans to open an innovation lab at the 1819 Innovation Hub in Avondale. Eder told me a final inspection is scheduled this week with a target move-in by the end of the month.
