CareSMS, a Chicago-based digital health startup, will be participating in an accelerator program hosted by Los Angeles, California-based early-stage venture capital firm Slauson & Co.

The accelerator program, the Friends & Family Pre-Seed Accelerator, comes with a $150,000 investment.

Slauson & Co. received more than 850 applications for this year's program from startups across the country. Twenty companies were ultimately selected, including CareSMS, to the 12-week program, which runs through June 2024.

Founded by Ajun Srivastava and his father, CareSMS offers a platform for in-home, mobile and virtual care that helps health providers with scheduling and routing automation, insights, rich mapping, zoning features and more.

Srivastava previously founded Goodsend, a peer-to-peer giving platform that was designed to be more trusted than other direct-giving platform. While Goodsend remains in operation, Srviastava told Chicago Inno that it has become a part-time job as he moves to his next venture.
