A Chicago startup that is looking to create an artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity marketplace has been selected for a Google cybersecurity accelerator program.
The startup — Hackerverse — gives chief information security officers and other buyers an opportunity to find solutions they're considering on automated demos.
It's one of five U.S.-based companies and one of 17 to make the program. This is the second cohort of the Google for Startups Growth Academy: AI for Cybersecurity program, part of the Google for Startups offerings.
The three-month program, which officially kicked off in Munich on Thursday, offers equity-free support for each startup to work one-on-one with Google AI and cybersecurity experts.
The program opened to seed and Series A startups based in Europe and the U.S. that are looking to scale internationally. Startups with demonstrated traction — whether that be through funding, users and revenue — were encouraged to apply as well as those focused on leveraging AI to address cybersecurity challenges like prevention, protection, research and threat analysis.
More than 200,000 jobs have been created by startups in the Google for Startups community.
A roughly $15 billion market in 2021, the AI-based cybersecurity product market is estimated to reach $135 billion by 2030.
