Hours before Pluie's appearance on 'Shark Tank' is scheduled to air, the Chicago startup signed one of its biggest deal to date.
Pluie, the maker of a self-sanitizing diaper-changing table for public restrooms, can soon be found in the Indianapolis airport.
Indianapolis International Airport plans to install 50 Pluie diaper changing tables in men's, women's and family restrooms throughout the airport. The partnership will make the airport the largest single footprint public facility in the U.S. outfitted with Pluie changing tables.
Pluie already can be found at Guaranteed Rate Field, the home of the Chicago White Sox, as well as other major facilities like the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, St. Louis Lambert International Airport, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
In a conversation with Chicago Inno this week, Pluie co-founder and CEO Addie Gundry said the company was looking to continue to build its footprint across the country. Pluie has raised $3.7 million to date and is up to four full-time employees.
"We're in 22 states right now and need to get to all 50," she said. "We want to continue to grow brand awareness. We're doing great in terms of traction with market segments: we have airports, we have retail, we have grocery stores and we just want to build our footprint across the country."
Maria Wiley, ADA coordinator and senior director of audit, risk management and procurement for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said it was the airport's commitment to health, safety and comfort that led it to Pluie.
