With the Masters underway, a Chicago sports-betting startup is adding golf to its lineup of betting and fantasy sports coverage. And it's partnering with a major golf social media influencer to kickstart its new vertical.

Betsperts announced the official launch of Betsperts Golf, which provides betting tools, research and advice to golf fans. It's offering a subscription service for bettors that features content and analysis including video, podcast and written content.

It's launching Betsperts Golf alongside Paige Spiranac, a former professional golfer and YouTube instructor. The golf influencer also has more 3 million followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on TikTok.

Reid Rooney, Betsperts' CEO, said Spiranac will work with the startup to provide content and help promote its golf betting tools.

Founded in 2019, Betsperts has created a social media platform for sports bettors that allows gamblers to find and follow experts across different sports. Its app tracks and ranks gamblers based on their betting history, helping users know who to follow if they want advice on their next bet. Betsperts also has an official data partnership with the PGA Tour, the company said.

One of Chicago Inno's 22 startups to watch in 2022, Betsperts has raised $9 million in funding. Its investors include professional athletes Kevin Durant and Chris Paul, as well as HBSE Ventures and Verance Capital.

Along with betting content, the startup has also made a push into fantasy sports. Last year it acquired the Fantasy Life App, a tool created by ESPN personality Matthew Berry that delivers breaking news push notifications to fantasy players. It also acquired 4for4.com, a content, data and rankings tool for fantasy football.
