Jim Beam Released Its Version of the Apple Watch and It's Hilarious

On Wednesday, the year's most anticipated tech was revealed. No, not the iPhone 7 or the AirPods. Something even more innovative. Meet the Jim Beam Apple Watch.

Yesterday, Jim Beam had a little fun with all of the excitement and coverage surrounding Apple's big event by releasing its own version of the Apple Watch. With an official-looking video and landing page, Jim Beam is going all in on its goofy parody campaign.

The Jim Beam Apple Watch is, as you may be able to tell, a green watch that features a collapsable shot glass in place of the watch face. As Master Distiller Fred Noe explained, "For the first time ever, you will no longer have to worry about finding a glass to measure the perfect refreshingly crisp shot or to mix a proper cocktail; because you’ll already be wearing it."

The Watch is available for purchase on the Jim Beam site, but is currently marked as 'Sold Out.' The company describes the fake product as a "slick, stylish accessory that conveniently packs a 1.5 oz. shot glass right on your wrist, allowing you to connect with friends over refreshing shots rather than refreshed newsfeeds."

Added Noe, "Critics may ask, 'What good is a watch that can't tell time? We actually think we've created a watch that helps you make time. Who doesn't want to make time for friends, family and a refreshing Jim Beam Apple shot or cocktail?"

The Apple Watch is positioned as a marketing campaign for Jim Beam Apple, the 2015 product that quickly became one of the most successful line extensions in the seven plus generation history of Jim Beam.

Jim Beam, though brewed in Kentucky, is owned by Beam Suntory, Inc., which is based in Deerfield, Illinois.
