While December can have a reputation for being a quiet month, there were still plenty of personnel moves happening in the Boston tech community.
That included Building Engines naming a new CEO, former Rue La La veterans David Krauter and Stephanie Brocoum reuniting at Paint Nite, and ezCater adding WeWork Global Head of M&A Emily Keeton and former Morgan Stanley tech head Chuck Cory to its board.

• Agero, a Medford-based company, hired Jason Peters as its senior director of roadside product management. Previously, Peters was a senior director at CVS.
• BackOffice Associates, a Hyannis-based company, announced the appointment of William D. Green as its new chairman of the board. Green previously served as CEO and chairman of Accenture.
• Balehu hired Fred Townes as its new CTO. Previously, he was the founding CTO at Mashable and co-founder and CTO at Placester.
• Broadcast Pix, a Chelmsford-based provider of live production tools, promoted Bob Poucel to executive vice president and general manager and Russell Whittaker to worldwide director of channel sales. Poucel was previously director of support and Whittaker was previously an senior vice president.
• BUILD Boston added LogMeIn CEO and President Bill Wagner to its board of directors. Wagner had served as a final round judge for this past summer's BUILDFest Pitch Challenge.
• Building Engines — a real estate tech company that raised a large growth equity round last year after mostly bootstrapping since its founding in 2000 — announced Tim Curran as its new CEO. Curran was a board member and advisor before his appointment, and he was previously CEO of Vela Systems, a company acquired by Autodesk in 2012. Curran, who was most recently CEO of Sample6, is replacing founder David Osborn, who will remain as board chairman and provide advising for long-term vision and strategy.
• Bullhorn hired Ian Scott as its director of global accounts. Scott was most recently head of sales for a global provider of recruitment technology that wasn't identified in Bullhorn's press release. Bullhorn said Scott is a "trusted advisor to many of the world's top recruitment firms."
• Carbon Black hired Cate Lochead as its new senior vice president of marketing. Most recently, Lochead served as CMO of MariaDB.
• EnergySage, a Boston-based online solar marketplace, added Alo Mukerji, a former Buildium executive who was an early product leader at Constant Contact, to its leadership team. Mukerji will serve as EnergySage's vice president of product, the same role she held while at Buildium for three years.
• Evergage, a provider of real-time personalization software for ecommerce and other industries, hired Cliff Lyon as vice president of engineering. He was previously at StubHub, CBS Interactive and CNET Networks. He was most recently CTO and co-founder of an artificial intelligence startup called Python ai.
• EzCater, an online business catering marketplace, added Emily Keeton and Chuck Cory to its board of directors. Keeton is WeWork's global head of mergers and acquisitions and Cory is the former chairman of technology banking at Morgan Stanley.
• HubSpot CFO John Kinzer has been appointed to the board of directors of OutSystems. Prior to HubSpot, Kinzer served as CFO for Blackboard.
• IMediaSalesTeam hired Matthew Cooney as its senior director of emerging technologies and interactive campaigns. Cooney was previously director of social media and emerging technologies at Nickerson PR.
• Kyruus, a healthcare tech startup, hired Chris Gervais as its senior vice president of engineering. He was most recently vice president of engineering at cybersecurity startup Threat Stack.
• Mad*Pow announced the new hires of Emily Treat as experience strategy director, Lis Pardi as experience design director, Rod Gifford in the experience design team and Rick Allen as director of content strategy. Previously, Treat worked for Kaplan International, Pardi at The Boston Globe, Gifford at Medullan and Allen at his company ePublish Media.
• Nuance Communications announced that SSM Health CEO Laura Kaiser joined the company's board of directors.
• Paint Nite added two executives to its C-Suite, CEO David Krauter and CMO Stephanie Brocoum. This is a reunion for Brocoum and Krauter, who previously worked together on the launch team of Boston-based private sale site Rue La La.
• SevOne, a provider of network and infrastructure management solutions based in Boston, announced three new appointments: Paul Ciesielski as chief revenue officer, Joe Ghattas as vice president of sales and managing director for the EMEA region (based in London), and Danny Smolders as vice president of sales and general manager for Asia Pacific (based in Singapore). Previously, Ciesielski held a leadership role at CHEF Software, Ghattas served as president of JMTP Enterprises and Smolders was vice president of APAC for ExtraHop.
• Tamr, a big data startup, hired Karen Cambray as CFO and operations lead and Melissa Campbell as chief revenue officer. Cambray was most recently CFO at Cartera Commerce, and Campbell was previously group vice president for Oracle's service automation business. The company also promoted Head of Product Management Clare Bernard to head of product and engineering.
• Thoughtbot, a Boston-based development firm, hired Lindsey Christensen as its vice president of marketing. She was most recently head of marketing at Tetrascience.
• Wiser, the company formerly known as Mobee before it merged with Quad Analytix, hired Mark Rudolph as its chief revenue officer. Rudolph was most recently COO of Evidon, the company formerly known as Ghostery before it was acquired in 2017.
• Workbar announced three leadership appointments: Sarah Travers as head of business development, C. Todd Lombardo as head of product and experience and Justin Miller as head of marketing. Travers was previously at Regus, Lombardo was at Constant Contact's Innovation Loft, and Miller was most recently vice president of marketing at Startup Institute.
