Toast, the restaurant point-of-sale software company, is outgrowing its current space in Hatch Fenway and is now looking for as much as 100,000 square feet of office space for its new Boston headquarters.

According to the Boston Business Journal, the Google-backed startup wants to secure between 80,000 and 100,000 square feet to accommodate its team growth plans. Compared to the venture's current office within Hatch's co-working community, where it's been for the past couple of years, the new headquarters would be about three times the space.

Since securing $30 million in Series B last year, Toast has added 200 employees. The company hopes to move into the new space by 2018, as it plans to increase its headcount by “several hundred” more over the next year.

“We’ve experienced fantastic growth as a company,” Toast CEO Chris Comparato told the Boston Business Journal. “Part of the future of that growth is expanding across the country, but also expanding in Boston.”

“We’re committed to Boston,” he said. “We love Boston. It’s been our headquarters, and it’s been our roots.”
