Why Trump Supporters Were Sending Threats to the Ship Snow Yo Guy

Only a couple of weeks after launching Trumpojis - a line of Donald Trump emojis - Boston entrepreneur and ShipSnowYo creator Kyle Waring has decided to take down the most controversial Trumpojis on his site after receiving threats.

"Dozens of threats came in to burn my computer down and shut down the site through my host... just annoying stuff," Waring wrote to us. "Good thing I anticipated this happening and splurged to protect my domain whois information :)... Might scrub these specific trumpojis and relaunch as a new separate site -_- not sure yet."

According to Waring's Twitter, he had been receiving some unwanted attention from Trump supporters, who were upset about several controversial Trumpojis and were reportedly threatening him. In a series of tweets, Waring said he would be taking down these threat-garnering images, including one depicting Trump hiding behind a brick wall and another of the presidential candidate donning a turban - by May 27.

I've received countless threats over the controversial trumpojis, ill be removing them from this site EOD tomorrow - get them while you can!

"Trump supporters are unbelievably dedicated to his ascent and march towards the White House," Waring also shared. "I'm wondering if this is why this story was 'squashed' by a number of publications, who said they would write about it--then in the 11th hour, pulled the story?? Not cool."

Since our initial article on Trumpojis from May 12, which was published at the time of the app's launch, it has been making some traction. And Waring is now planning a share of upcoming Trumpoji additions - probably less controversial this time.

"Overall the app launch has gone pretty well with just over 450 downloads in 2 weeks," the founder wrote. "We're updating it with some new trumpojis and might give it a little nudge in a couple weeks."

trump supporters have no chill, it's just a joke!!!! @DylanLJMartin pic.twitter.com/3bemG1auTY
