Right about now is when college students sans internships get a little panicky. With a couple of months left in the school year, internship programs at major companies have been picked over. So what’s a frantic student in search of summer work experience to do? Turn to local startups to find an internship.
Given the demanding nature of getting a business off the ground, startups are always in need of help, especially if that help doesn’t have the salary expectations of full-grown professionals. According to AngelList, there are currently 70 startups in Boston looking for interns. (I consulted other job board sites, but let’s just say they were playing fast and loose with what they considered a startup.)
With that said, some types of college talent are more coveted than others. So if students are trying to figure out their competitive edge among the eleventh-hour internship market, I broke down the demand for different positions areas to let them see where they fit within the realm of jobs prospects.
