Here's What the Drizly Team Is Drinking This Holiday Season

Drizly knows drinking.

The alcohol-delivery app—which just expanded to Tampa, its 18th metro region, and "will look towards international expansion next year"—is practiced in all things beer, wine and liquor, dishing to locals in what's sure to be another busy holiday season for the Boston company.

When they're not getting booze out to the masses, the team can be found sipping on some unique holiday drinks of their own. Since they're more in the know than most, we thought we'd ask what they're drinking this winter – seems like the team responsible for getting you the best holiday cocktails and other drinks should know a thing or two about what's good right now.

Here, with the help of PR associate Kerin Horgan, is what some of the Drizly team is sipping on. From beer floats to bubbly, hot buttered rum to a good old fashioned Coors Light, it's one eclectic drink menu.

Nick Rellas, Co-founder and CEO: "I’m a pretty low key guy, you’ll find me drinking Coors Light for the most part. Every now and then I go for a Macallan 12 year."

Justin Robinson, Co-founder: "During the holiday season, I'm a huge local porter guy. Trillium Pot & Kettle Oatmeal Porter, Sam Adams Maple Porter, Mayflower Porter are a couple of the favorites."

Trisha Antonsen, Chief Cocktail Officer: "It’s the holiday season so I’m all about spending time with friends and family. You’ll find me by the Spiced Rum Punch Bowl. I like to make a large batch cocktail that has seasonal flavors like spices and citrus and has a little kick to get the party going. Plus Boston is known for basically putting rum on the map, so I guess it’s a little hometown homage."

Karli Del Rossi, General Manager, Boston: "My go-to is called an Orange Crush. I typically make it at home, mixing vodka, triple sec, Sprite and fresh squeezed orange juice. Although it’s probably more of a summer drink, I like to make it all year long, especially over the winter because then it reminds me of summer!"

Kerin Horgan, Public Relations: "I’m a firm believer that you can never go wrong with bubbles. Fun fact, champagne and sparkling wine are not just for celebrations!"

Robert Walton, Customer Experience: "I have a few go-to holiday cocktails, but my favorite is my own personal concoction that I call the Le Dolce Italiano. It’s Stoli Chocolate Kokonut Vodka and Frangelico hazelnut liquor served over ice."

Calvin Iverson, Public Relations: "This year, I'm all about variations on bourbon cider cocktails. Inspired by Drizly’s Bourbon Ginger Cider, I’ve been keeping Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur at my home bar for impromptu entertaining. It's delicious and adds a sophisticated kick."

Andy Kazeniac, Director of Customer Experience: "I went to Louisville with my dad earlier this year and was introduced to Noah’s Mill bourbon. Down in Louisville they say it’s the best bourbon that the rest of the country doesn’t know about, so I’ve been enjoying that lately!"

Matt Erley, Regional Manager, Western Markets: "I'm a big fan of the beer float. I’ve had a few of these now in Colorado. One that I really like is with peanut butter ice cream and some Left Hand Brewing Milk Stout. Don't get too crazy on the amount of beer you pour over the ice cream. Probably three parts ice cream and one part beer and it needs to be a dark lager or stout. It’s like dessert in a glass."

John Maden, Assistant Director, Customer Experience: "I'm a sucker for holiday punches, and my favorite is a winter sangria. Instead of vodka, brandy fortifies this drink with a sweet and brown spice making it perfect for cold weather. I tend to go with E&J VSOP Brandy and El Coto De Imaz Reserva Rioja when mixing."

Bryan Goodwin, Vice President, Sales & Retail Partners: "Tito's and soda water for me. Spice it up with a candy cane to add a little flavor for the holidays (serves as a great stirrer, really!)."

Brooke Morrissey, Market Manager, Midwest: "My family's favorite holiday cocktail is a classic Bloody Mary. We are big fans of holiday brunches and I'm always on Bloody Mary duty. I follow a recipe that calls for letting all ingredients simmer before cooling and adding vodka, ice and any accouterments. You can get really creative with homemade Bloody Mary bars, which helps to accommodate all types of guests – plus my grandmother loves them, always fun to share a cocktail with her!"

Danielle Olean, Project Manager: "For me during the holiday season I love Hot Buttered Rum. There is nothing like cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and butter to turn your rum into a delicious warm treat!"
