7 Things You Missed (or Loved) at #INBOUND15

What a week it's been! Some say it can be tough to go back to work after a long Labor Day weekend, but INBOUND definitely helped soothe that pain for me. A content marketer's dream, I learned all about SEO, marketing automation, blogging best practices, and tons more. But INBOUND isn't just about sessions, speakers and knowledge. Below are 7 things you missed out on at INBOUND (or loved if you attended too)!

  1. Inspiration from Brené Brown: After seeing Brené Brown's TED Talk about vulnerability a year or two ago, I couldn't wait to hear her speak at INBOUND. In her keynote on Wednesday morning, Brené shared with us an endearing story of vulnerability, that initially led to feeling unwarranted shame, but ended up making her more connected to and empathetic towards her husband in the end.
  2. Bellies full of Boston's best food (trucks). Marketers gotta eat, and no one knows this better than INBOUND! As a Boston resident, I'm fairly certain that I know my way around the food truck scene, and was very excited to see a few of my favorites (Bacon Truck, Baja Taco, Stoked) present for the massive lunch crowds.
  3. Dusty eyes thanks to the Malala Fund: Each year, INBOUND partners with a different charity to help spread awareness and support the foundation's mission. Created in response to an amazing girl who was shot for speaking out against the Taliban and trying to attend school, the Malala Fund's goal is to provide quality, free, and safe secondary education to girls worldwide. Some INBOUND attendees were able to attend a screening of the Malala Fund's new film, He Named Me Malala, for pledging to spread awareness. You can too by clicking here.
  4. Shiny new HubSpot products: The always-entertaining keynote from HubSpot founders Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan unveiled a slew of new products and enhancements from HubSpot. Check them out!
  5. A Dunkin pick-me-up: Dunkin Donuts sponsored the action-packed week at the Convention Center, fueling some busy INBOUND attendees when coffee was needed most. I did my best to ignore the out-of-towners who don't quite buy into the idea of Dunkin superiority.
  6. Dating advice from Aziz Ansari: INBOUND kicked off Thursday with a chat with Aziz Ansari, aka Tom from Parks & Recreation. Aziz shared countless laughs and a few book excerpts with us, as well as some great dating advice in the digital age. (The major takeaway: get off your phone every once in a while and meet people.) If you have tried online dating and haven't read Aziz's new book, Modern Romance, drop everything and buy it immediately.
  7. Amy. Schumer. My INBOUND experience ended with a hilarity-filled standup performance by Amy Schumer. I'd like to share the laughs with you, but 1) I don't want to ruin her new act for you, and 2) most are definitely not work appropriate.
