Boston Download: Aaron Hernandez's Home to Hit the Market, WeWork Cleaners to Hold Fair Pay Rally

Boston Dynamics Shows off Its Humanoid Robot Running Outdoors

Boston Dynamics has released a number of videos on its YouTube channel in recent years—and none of them fail to generate intrigue—but perhaps the most mesmerizing are the ones that star the Atlas: A humanoid robot that has autonomous limbs, and can climb stairs, traverse rough and rocky terrain while remaining balanced and upright, and even navigate obstacles. Atlas was developed as one of Boston Dynamics' entries into the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's Robotics Challenge. And in a new video (posted just a couple days ago), Boston Dynamics demonstrates an outdoor test with Atlas. We can't decide if the bot— shown stomping and at one point, running through a forest–looks cool or kind of terrifying. Probably a mix of both. – Rebecca Strong

Home of Convicted Murderer and Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez to Hit the Market

The North Attleboro home of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez is expected to his the housing market soon but it could be a tough sell given that the standout tight end was convicted in the murder of 27-year old Odin Lloyd. Hernandez bought the 7,100-square-foot mansion for $1.3 million in 2012 but seeing as how he's serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole, he doesn't really need it anymore.

WeWork Cleaners Plan Rally for Fair Pay

According to a release: "The contracted janitors who toil at the swanky start-up make as little as $10 an hour cleaning offices. WeWork has been valued at $10 billion by investors." Workers plan to participate in a Rally for Good Cleaning Jobs at WeWork Monday at 3:30 outside the WeWork South Station location, 745 Atlantic Avenue. Similar rallies have gained attention in New York as early as last week.

Here in the U.S., Chinese investors are deploying about $5 billion this year, OurCrowdCEO Jon Medved told Bloomberg TV the other day. GSR Ventures has a new fund for overseas acquisitions, also $5 billion. Lucky number I guess. "Think of electrical grids, think of water networks, think of smart cities," Medved said. "That's the kind of stuff the Chinese want ... they're looking for the hard stuff." >>> Read more on BostInno – Galen Moore

These MIT-Built Bartending Robots Serve Beer on Demand
