Reports the Globe's Jon Chesto: " ... the Lawn is costing the state convention center authority so much money to run — nearly $2 million this year — that officials there are unsure whether they can keep it open in its current form." A Man Was Shot and Killed in a Car Near Kendall Square

A man in his 30s was reportedly shot multiple times while in a car near Kendall Square Wednesday evening. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, and the suspect remains at large. “The passenger in that car sustained serious gunshot wounds,” Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan said. “The driver was seeking help.” – The Boston Globe

Deflategate's Ted Wells Bought A $2.1 Million Apartment From the Williams Sisters

At a certain level, the ongoing deflategate nonsense clearly seems to resemble a poorly written made-for-TV movie. And in the latest development of the inexplicable plot line, we have Ted Wells, who investigated the deflategate incident for the NFL (producing the self-named "Wells Report"), buying a multimillion dollar apartment in New York City. His new place formerly belonged to Serena and Venus Williams until Wells paid them $2.1 million for it. It's a high profile purchase at the worst possible time for the NFL. If Jimmy Conway was in charge, he would NOT be happy about this. We're guessing Roger Goodell isn't too pleased, either. ESPN's Darren Rovell has the details. - Hayden Bird

Now Settled Into Its Boston Digs, GSN Games Fires up Its Hiring Streak

Today, GSN Games has more than 400 in nine offices worldwide. Last year, the firm acquired Bash Gaming, creator of the hit social bingo game Bingo Bash, which added more than 150 employees and two new offices to the organization.
