Boston Properties, City of Cambridge to Create More Office & Residential Units

Boston Properties and the City of Cambridge are teaming up to reexamine local zoning codes in hopes of building new office and residential units in Kendall Square. It's reported the tandem is looking to construct "600,000 square feet of office space and 400,000 square feet of multifamily property." – Boston Business Journal

Will EMC buy out VMware?

An activist shareholder in EMC has been pressuring the company to sell off its 80-percent stake in VMware as a way to boost its share price. But Hopkinton-based EMC (NYSE: EMC) could soon go in the other direction, by buying out the remaining shares that it doesn’t own in VMware (VMW), according to a Re/code report. The move would lead to a savings on operating costs and “also give EMC the full benefit of VMware’s earnings, meaning it would no longer have to reduce the amount it reports every quarter to account for the stake,” according to Re/code. The Rockport Company Acquired, Forms The Rockport Group

The comfort footwear arena has changed dramatically, with today announcement that two industry leading companies, Drydock Footwear Group and The Rockport Company, joined forces. According to Business Wire, Drydock Footwear Group acquired The Rockport Company to become The Rockport Group. The company will maintain its local roots with headquarters in Canton. CEO Bob Infantino comes to Rockport after more than 30 years away and sets sites on a continued "commitment to innovation." - Kathryn Orticerio

DraftKings Is Doubling Its Fantasy Football Top Prize
