Welcome to Eastern Standard ... the Best Bar in the World
Conde Nast Traveler recently came out with a list of its 30 best bars in the world, and wouldn't you know it – Fenway's own Eastern Standard made the list. “The bar team at Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drink views the drink process as a conversation. For example, they listen to what is happening around them and craft their beverage selection with a point of view in mind," said Grill 23 owner Chris Himmel. Bonus: Great spot to pregame a Sox game if you're a millionaire. >>> Read more at Conde Nast Traveler – Alex Weaver
Stop Pointing Lasers at Pilots Trying to Land Planes
Two flight crews approaching Logan Airport Wednesday reported laser pointers being pointed at their cockpits, the latest is a bizarre trend that's as stupid as it is dangerous. Both flights were approximately two miles from the airport and traveling at about 9,000 feet, according to the FAA. It's a federal crime, and those caught, among other punishments, "may find themselves on a watch list." >>> Read more on The Boston Globe – Alex Weaver
Advantage 'No Boston Olympics' in the Primetime Debate
After an enormous amount of buildup to the debate on Boston 2024, co-hosted by Fox 25 and the Boston Globe, the final result was essentially what prognosticators would have expected. While a few minds might have changed watching Steve Pagliuca and Dan Doctoroff of Boston 2024 square off against Chris Dempsey and Andrew Zimbalist (representing the opposition), the majority opinion appears to have concluded on a slight victory for No Boston Olympics. (Note: That analysis represents the opinions of experts and journalists only, as there was no definitive metric for measuring the debate). Much of the discussion devolved into either an exploration of very specific numbers or facts, but the closing arguments showcased a better-rehearsed performance from Dempsey. That said, Boston 2024 probably isn't going away anytime soon, so why not have another debate? BostInno is definitely willing to host, if anyone's asking... - Hayden Bird
Converse Just Unveiled the First Redesigned Chuck Taylor in Nearly 100 Years [Photos]
One might easily mistake those for the Chucks of old. Like Ryan Case, the global footwear product director, who has been working on nothing but Chuck II for more than 12 months. >>> Read more on BostInno – Alex Weaver

Boston 2024 Is Walking a Difficult Road for Olympic Insurance
The insurance plan, like much of the bid itself, will continue to be hotly debated as the September deadline for official Olympic bid declarations quietly approaches. Boston 2024 could very well make the bold plan come to fruition, but it is yet another example of how the local bid has a more challenging road than its international competitors. >>> Read more on BostInno – Hayden Bird
