Boston Download: Boston 2024 Bid Release, TripAdvisor's Profits, Drizly to Nantucket

TripAdvisor Boosted Its Top Line by 25% in Q2

TripAdvisor ($TRIP) reported second-quarter earnings Thursday afternoon. Revenue's up 25% over a year ago, to $405 million in the quarter. Adjusted profits were $79 million or 54 cents per share. Profits were a little less than the $81 million (55 cents per share) TRIP earned in the year-ago quarter. Both numbers were a little shy of analysts' estimates, which on average had the company pegged for 55 cents per share on $413 million in revenue. TRIP's stock was down a bit in after-market trading on the news. Maybe that swanky new HQ ran over budget? Here's the full earnings release. --Galen Moore

Full Boston 2024 Bid '1.0' to Be Released Next Week

After Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson filed an order to the City Clerk for subpoena of Boston 2024 over the unreleased sections of the original "1.0" Olympic bid, it appears that we will finally see the full, unredacted document despite the subpoena being delayed from getting voted on Tuesday. In a push from Mayor Walsh, Boston 2024's Chairman, Steve Pagliuca, released a statement on Monday night. Part of the statement reads that "Mayor Walsh and I spoke, and I agreed with him, that we should release the full version of the preliminary bid package (Bid 1.0) to the public in order to continue to maintain this high standard of transparency." So look forward to it "early next week," according to Pagliuca. - Hayden Bird

Tent City's Possible Relocation Out of Boston Doesn't Bode Well for Bulfinch Triangle

Bulfinch Triangle, which roughly encompasses the area around the Garden, Canal Street, Merrimac Street and Causeway Street, just a stone's throw from Converse, has been the subject of such dense development in recent years.
