ClimateStore Could be Your Next One-Stop Shop to Help Save the Earth

Global climate change can often appear as an issue too big for the individual to tackle. Sure, you can reuse your water bottle and bike to work, but these feel like small drops in an all-too-large pond that is growing every day.

But what if you could make your entire life sustainable? This is the ultimate goal of ClimateStore, which, with its local Kick Carbon Indiegogo campaign, is attempting to add 1,000 climate solution products to its online store.

"We want to help people get on the path of full sustainable living," said ClimateStore founder Steve Bushnell, who started the company to merge his two passions of business and science. A 15-year biotech veteran, Bushnell says that he has always wanted to do something about the climate, and feels that now is the perfect time for a push. "There's a shift in my mind that the issue is getting through to the individual."

ClimateStore, now, features 350 products which can help the individual consumer work toward a greener lifestyle, with everything from composters to school supplies available for purchase.

The website also features a Learn section, which provides scientific data and explanations for all facets of the global issue and helps make it accessible to the everyday shopper. And if you're feeling really gung-ho about cleaning up your carbon footprint, the website has an Act tab providing clear steps anybody can take to make their life better for the earth and people alike.

Currently, the Indiegogo campaign, which is about halfway done, has reached 10 percent of its goal of $100,000, funding that could help bring products like LED lights and solar panels to residents all over the country.

If you do choose to donate, there are some unique perks. At the $100 level you can receive a Gold Star Climate Kicker, which includes a swag pack (stickers, mug or tote, and a hoodie) along with exclusive access to participate in a webinar with climate experts and an invitation to their Indiegogo happy hour in Boston. At the $25o level you will be set up with a Personal Climate Action Plan tailored specifically to your lifestyle and individual carbon footprint.

But what's most inspiring is Bushnell's unwavering, pragmatic optimism regarding his company and the state of climate.

"We're going to cook ourselves if we don't start doing something about it, but there's good news. The good new is there's still time to act," he says in the campaign video.

Acting could be easier than ever if ClimateStore reaches its funding. Right now, as Bushnell puts it, "You don't have a clear brand to go to" when it comes to sustainable products, adding, "What we love about our brand is it can go in many different directions."

So, if successful, you'll never have to stray too far from your computer to go the latest shade of green.
