Two Accelerate teams were Spotlight Student Start-Ups on April 8th as part of the 6th Anniversary of Mass Innovation Nights, an organization that connects local entrepreneurs with the innovation community. Taking place at maker-place start-up business, Danger!Awesome, the night drew in many eager people to see some of what could be the next BIG thing!
Cycol and Zen Biometrics, two advanced Accelerate teams, spent an evening networking, receiving feedback from people of various industries and, of course, pitching their idea to the huge crowd present.

Zen Biometrics, comprised of Alex Schwarzkopf (BELM ’15), Sean Iacobone (BELM ’15); Matt Joyal (BELM ’15); Dylan Powers (BELM ’15); and Jennifer Roy (BIND ’16) have worked tirelessly for approximately two-and-a-half years on their concussion detection headband for amateur athletes. With this device, coaches, parents, or any medical professional would be able to determine if the athlete has suffered a concussion based on the data received. Currently the team is at the prototyping stage, testing the equipment on the Wentworth lacrosse team.
