Bostonians' nights out have gotten glitzier.
Tablelist, a platform that helps partygoers book VIP tables and bottle service at the city's nightclubs, announced Tuesday a partnership with car-hailing app Uber, meaning users can transport to and from Boston's bars safely, all while having an upscale night out in between.
The news was made possible thanks to Uber opening its API in August, and will bring the nightlife and transportation industries together on one mobile platform. Explained Tablelist Founder and CEO Julian Jung in a statement:
It’s all about spending less time planning, and more time celebrating life. We want every aspect of our members night out to be seamless – from browsing their city’s top venues, to selecting their table and bottles, to prepaying the tab and splitting the tab with friends. Now, their transportation to and from their Tablelist night out is just as instant.
The partnership is powered by Button, whose SDK and DeepLink Commerce integration with Uber allows companies to integrate the "Uber Ride Picker" and "Ride Alerts" into their app with a few lines of code.
When users book a VIP table using Tablelist, they will receive an alert asking if they want to request an Uber to their venue of choice. Button took the integration a bit further, however; Tablelist can now offer 30-minute reminders to members to book their Uber ride, as well as the option to request a ride home from within the app.
The integration is now available in Boston, New York and San Francisco.
Tablelist most recently closed an additional $500,000 in funding, bringing the startup's total amount raised to $2 million.
