Fuel For Your Next Race With This Cambridge-Based Startup

Have you ever run a road race or attended a fitness event where you received a goodie bag full of healthy bars, snacks and products? Well, now imagine you could have those tasty delights delivered to your doorstep – monthly.

RacePak, a customizable monthly box, is no ordinary service. Chock full of high-quality, junk-free products, this beautifully crafted package allows you to build your own Pak complete with gluten-free, Paleo-friendly athletic-inspired treats. No longer will you have to hit up Amazon for individual orders or trek to numerous health food stores to find your perfect products.

Finally you can find them all in one place with the convenience of it being delivered right to your door. Genius.

So who are the brains behind this brilliant startup? Meet Dan O'Neill and Tyler Noyes. Previously working in finance, these go-getters are anything but gym rats.

With Noyes having a background in triathlons — and currently training for Kona — he was constantly frustrated with the process of finding his favorite fitness bars. For O'Neill, it is his love of CrossFit and Olympic lifting that left him craving pre and post workout healthy options.

And just as both founders choose to sweat it out differently, their palate for the products they test is just as diverse.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with O'Neill, Noyes and their incredible intern, Boston College student and Track and Field member, Collin Fedor. Between testing the products and attending races to promote RacePak, it's crystal clear these three are passionate about this product.

"We 'soft launched' last year with only the gift concept, Dan and I officially started doing RacePak full time this past March and the subscription model launched this past June," states Noyes. Whether you're looking for a birthday gift for Dad or a present to give the active lady in your life, RacePak provides delicious options that this team has taste tested and approved!

However, just as you would expect, every bar or healthy snack that shows up on their desk isn't an automatic addition to RacePak. Noyes filled me in on one of the more interesting products he's tried. "The strangest flavor combination was raspberry, lemon, date, and fig with a hint of what I'm convinced was a citrus dish soap," Noyes said.

Laughter immediately ensued when Fedor confessed that he really enjoyed that particular product.

So whether it's powders for hydration, protein bars for your post-workout snack or a non-edible such as the Relaxus Roller Ball Massager, you can bet on your RacePak that these men have muddled through endless amounts of grub and gear to offer you the best on the market today.

And just as their site states, RacePak carries "craft-quality, non-mainstream products that meet a high nutritional standard." These are the health goodies that have yet to hit the shelves at Whole Foods — meaning it's saving you money. Who doesn't love that?

So let's get started. First, head on over to RacePak and start selecting your Pak. Create an account and purchase the monthly subscription! If you're interested in giving a one-time Pak as a gift, prices range from $60-80.

Before you know it, you'll be receiving quality foods and finds that will help you stay healthy, active and on track. Be sure to keep up with RacePak on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as well!
