The Capital Network Merges with Boston Student Networking Site Greenhorn Connect

The Capital Network and Greenhorn Connect, a networking website dedicated to bringing Boston area college students and recent grads resources, events and organizations, finalized a merger this morning that will place TCN in charge of running several of Greenhorn's flagship events and maintaining its online calender of networking events and workshops.

The merger comes after Greenhorn founder Jason Evanish moved from Boston to San Francisco in 2012 and realized that, though others helped locally maintain the site and events, it would be more productive to "bow out" and place the site in the hands of an organization that has more resources available and is more equipped to bring the site to "the next level," Evanish told BetaBoston.

The combination of the two organizations will allow Greenhorn to reach more students in the Boston area than it was able to before and bring them together for more meetups and networking events. The first event organized by the two sites will be a new student dinner series for the fall, with the first dinner being held next month.

While Greenhorn doesn't have any full-time employees, volunteers for the site will shift over to helping TCN part-time. TCN currently employs two people full-time.
