VIP Partying App Tablelist Raises $1.5M, Backed by Twitter Executive Wayne Chang

UPDATE 7/21 1:15 p.m.: Atlas Venture partner Jeff Fagnan told BostInno that Chang invested in Tablelist as one of the leads of Atlas's Boston Syndicate on AngelList, which includes Lars Albright, co-founder and CEO of SessionM, Andrew Paradise, founder and CEO of Skillz, and Fred Shilmover, CEO of InsightSquared, among others.

Tablelist, an app that lets you plan your VIP night out on the town, raised $1.5 million in funding on AngelList from backers including Crashlytics founder and Twitter executive Wayne Chang and Jason Carroll of hedge fund Hudson River Trading.

The round takes the Boston startup’s total capital to $2 million.

The iOS and Android app allows party-goers to browse and reserve tables at nightclubs and pre-select liquor and champagne brands for bottle service. As a result, users spend less time waiting in lines and hanging out before the booze arrives, and more time raging. The bill is taken care of via credit card, similar to on-demand car service Uber, and is automatically charged or can be split among a crew of friends.

And good news, Boston: Tablelist is live in 30 venues around the city, including Storyville and Bijou. The startup also has 40 New York City clubs and bars signed on. In addition, the service is live in Washington D.C., Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
