Cleantech startup CrowdComfort collected on Monday nearly $350,000 of a predicted $1.5 million round of seed funding, which it put towards building its team.
The latest chunk of capital, which comes from a number of undisclosed angel investors in the Northeast, takes the MassChallenge 2014 finalist’s total to $650,000.
Spun out of a Cleanweb Hackathon in 2013, the company offers a software service and app that lets employees of a given building report maintenance issues, like an overly cold room or a broken chair, mobilely via a simple step-by-step question and answer form or photos. Meanwhile, building managers can monitor the crowdsourced data digitally, in real-time, and send staff to fix the situation as soon as possible.
A number of companies within the Boston-area, including EnerNOC and General Electric, are using CrowdComfort’s platform.
The six-person startup is based out of MassChallenge’s new space in South Boston, as well as Somerville cleantech incubator, Greentown Labs.
