Boston web content marketer Skyword announced on Wednesday that it has opened up an office on the West Coast, a product of its acqui-hire of Palo Alto company Clear Content Marketing. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With five full-time workers, Clear has a small but mighty team that’s attracted clients like Google, LinkedIn, Marketo and Silverpop, which was acquired by IBM this year. Heading up the California office will be Clear founder and CEO, Caitlin Roberson.
Clear’s staff will shuffle in nicely with Skyword’s own 85 employee team. In addition to its Boston office, the firm also has space in Pittsburgh. The company plans to hire around 45 new people throughout all three locations in the next 12 months, as well as open additional offices, according to the Boston Business Journal.
Skyword’s customers include IBM, Purina, GE Capital, Western Digital and more. Though the firm does content creation, major publishers like Time Inc. and The Wall Street Journal turn to Skyword’s platform to manage freelance articles and content workflow.
Skyword has raised a total of $20 million since its inception in 2010.
