Hiring in the Hub 6/20-6/26: Smarterer, Visible Measures & Dyn Make Huge Hires

Boston's business elite has been busy this past week. Catch up on who's going where below:

Fast-growing Manchester, NH Internet performance company Dyn brought on Bob Baines as the director of its newly-established community relations department and philanthropic arm, dubbed DynCares. Baines is the former mayor of Manchester and principal of Manchester High School West. Baines will work with Dyn to bring a larger focus on technology, STEM education and workforce development to New England.

Skill quizzing company Smarterer welcomed a stellar new hire this week. Sam Nichols will join the startup to lead enterprise sales. Nicholas hails from LinkedIn’s Talent Solutions group, and will continue to expand Smarterer’s recently launched enterprise solution, Flock.

“In today's rapidly evolving talent industry, the ability for both individual professionals and organizations to validate skills is immensely important," said Nichols in a statement. "I joined Smarterer because the company is solving a massive need inside Fortune 500 companies, by transforming the skill assessment industry."

Video content marketing firm Visible Measures added Chris Woods to its executive team to take on the role of chief revenue officer. Woods will help drive the company’s next wave of growth, and will oversee the sales teams. Prior to joining Visible Measures, he founded CEO consulting firm Boston Bridge Partners, worked as CRO for BrightLine and led sales for Google.

“From his work at Google to his instrumental role in growing an innovative video advertising startup called Screenvision from $20 million in revenue to over $100 million, Chris has an impressive background in sales and business development,” said Brian Shin, CEO and founder of Visible Measures, in a statement.

Boston-based free sporting event photo provider Gameface Media made three key appointments in the past week. Brian Walker will move into the role of vice president of production and development, Mark Herlyn will become chief advertising officer and Andrew Van Ogtrop will serve as EVP of business development.

The City of Boston’s civil innovation branch, New Urban Mechanics, is on the lookout for a Civic Hackathon Facilitator. The organization is prepping to put on a hackathon to kick off a public campaign to improve permitting, and it needs someone to take charge of the details. App developer tools company Telerik announced its plans for a significant expansion of its stateside headquarters in Waltham. The company more than tripled its Boston-area office to 24,000 square-feet, and is now able to squeeze 180 employees into the space.
