This weekend, outside of South Station, Bostonians had the chance to step onto a tricked out MBTA bus-turned-lounge, courtesy of retail e-commerce company Wayfair. And over the next couple of days, Boston Idea Week will rage on – literally, and starting on Tuesday with the transformation of the Courthouse MBTA station into a “techno meets hipster intellect” nightclub.
The made-over station will be dubbed the Idea Lab, and used as a place of collaboration for Idea Week panels and music entertainment from June 17 to 19. The three-day pop-up is designed to encourage Bostonians to continue to think beyond the status quo, pioneer new concepts and, perhaps most importantly, collaborate with one another.
Kicking off the celebration of the freshly redesigned Courthouse station is Tuesday’s event The Future of Boston’s Startup Culture, featuring a dynamic discussion on how our city’s startup culture has drastically changed in the past few years, and how people can make work meaningful for all and not just those within the startup peripheral.
Starting at 6 p.m., the gathering will comprise an elite and diverse lineup from Boston’s startup community, promising unique perspectives. The panel will be moderated by Culture Amp’s Corey McAveeney and include a spread of first-time founders, serial entrepreneurs and city officials alike. Following the program portion of the evening, a cash bar will be open for business and a DJ will take the stage. After all, the event is being held in a [temporary] nightclub.
