Tackle Grab Raises $1M, Partners with NASCAR Winner Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Company

PayPal Start Tank company Tackle Grab, which offers subscription packages for fisherman, revealed that it has raised $1 million in funding and inked a partnership with outdoor lifestyle brand Earnhardt Outdoors, founded by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. and family.

The startup’s CEO Owen Hall did not disclose the company’s investors in the round, according to the Boston Business Journal. The round takes Tackle Grab’s total financing to $1.25 million.

Tackle Grab is like Birchbox for fisherman. The startup sends fishing enthusiasts a box full of the latest gear and high-quality lures, depending on their fishing preferences and their location, every month. Three months of Tackle Grab will put you back $45 (now, however, the company is knocking $10 off for a Father’s Day sale). That’s a pretty good deal, considering that Tackle Grab guarantees that the cumulative value of each box will be equal to or greater than $15. The company currently has around 6,000 subscribers.

As for Earnhardt Outdoors and Tackle Grab’s partnership, the duo has created “Tackle Grab – Powered by Earnhardt Outdoors” to spin out “innovative new brands to their line-up of high quality fishing products,” according to the release.
