The Bruins may have lost Wednesday night, but at the House of Blues, Boston’s tech community was busy celebrating some big wins.
The New England Venture Capital Association held its second-ever NEVY Awards, inviting hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors and executives to the Fenway concert hall to laud the successes of the past year in rock-and-roll style.
“You all look fierce!,” NEVCA Executive Director CA Webb told the crowd of pleather- and funky wig-wearing innovators in her introduction.
Governor Deval Patrick championed the tech and creative class’s strides and positive impact on the economy in a warm – and surprise – video welcome, and soon, the event was underway.
Once all 17 accolades, from "Hottest Startup" to "Deal of the Year," were given away, members of the startup community busted out in a quirky rendition of “Sweet Caroline” in homage to Fenway and the event’s theme.
