Mobile advertising startup SessionM welcomed Paul Krasinski as its senior vice president of business development and strategy on Wednesday.
The Boston company plucked Krasinski from his prior role as CMO of Visible Measures, a video analytics solution for publishers and advertisers based in the Leather District. Prior to Visible Measures, Krasinski served as CEO of Umbel, senior vice president of digital media and analytics at Arbitron (acquired by Nielsen) and COO at Ando Media (acquired by Triton Media Group).
“All publishers understand the importance of having a sound mobile strategy. The ability to drive engagement and monetize will determine success. SessionM has a winning solution, as it has proven its ability to directly increase user engagement and monetization through user participation and activity.” said Krasinski in a statement.
The new executive hire keeps up SessionM’s momentum coming off of a record-breaking first quarter with new multi-million dollar brand buys, key mobile publisher integrations and new strategic partners, according to the release.
SessionM’s hallmark platform adds an engagement level to traditional mobile advertising with features like games or video. Ideally, the more users participate in the activities, the more rewards and redeemable points they receive, building brand loyalty.
The company raised $20 million in Series B funding in May 2012 from Charles River Ventures with participation from existing investors Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers. Since its founding in 2012, SessionM has raised $26.5 million.
