Alcohol delivery service app Drizly just scooped up some serious executive talent. The company announced a trio of strategic new hires on Thursday: Hugh Hunter as its vice president of engineering, Jeremy Kriegel as VP of customer experience, and Bryan Goodwin as VP of sales and retail partners.
“Drizly shortens the distance to fun times with friends and family,” said Nick Rellas, founder and CEO of Drizly, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be adding to our senior management team to make our products more delightful and usable, and to deliver the most convenient experience to consumers with the biggest and best retail partner network.”
Hunter joins the team from Vente Privee, a pioneering flash sale site, where he served as a software architect. Before that, the Yale and University of Southern California alum spent more than 10 years in software development, engineering and quality assurance roles, jumping between companies like Visa and Hearst.
Drizly’s new VP of customer experiences comes from another startup in Boston’s innovation ecosystem. Kriegel hails from fine jewelry customization company Gemvara, where he was the director of UX. Prior to Gemvara, he did stints at Endeca, Sapient and Xerox.
Goodwin, who will be responsible for establishing Drizly’s alcohol delivery network, comes to the team from travel tech giant TripAdvisor, where he most recently served as the director of North American sales and operations. Prior to TripAdvisor, Goodwin was the first employee at FlipKey, the leading vacation rental marketplace which was acquired by TripAdvisor in 2008.
Drizly is also partnering with Uber for a featured special for New York Nets and Miami Heat fans in the Big Apple. The company, which expanded its service to New York City and Brooklyn earlier this year, is not only offering up two tickets to the game on Saturday, May 10th at 8 p.m., but is also providing round-trip transportation with the black car service and a swanky pregame liquor package.
Unfortunately, if you want to try your luck winning the package, you'll have to take a trip down to New York on your own dime. We're hoping Drizly will offer such a deal for some of its hometown teams sometime soon.
