Hiring in the Hub 3/28-4/3: HubSpot CFO Departs for Localytics, InsightSquared VP of Sales Joins Privy



Boston's business elite has been busy this past week. Catch up on who's going where below:

Former HubSpot CFO David Stack left the inbound marketing company on Thursday for Localytics, a local startup that provides marketing analytics for brand’s Web and mobile apps. Stack is responsible for guiding HubSpot’s finances as it has prepared for its anticipated 2014 IPO. Prior to HubSpot, Stack served as the VP of finance for EMC and VP of finance for RSA Security. Said Stack in a statement:

Localytics is one of Boston’s fastest-growing companies, poised for tremendous success. As the Web becomes more app-like and as brands increasingly leverage mobile apps to engage consumers and drive monetization, the need for powerful analytics has never been greater. I’m looking forward to working with the Localytics team to help the company on its accelerated trajectory of growth.

This is a big move for Localytics. The company’s tech is currently used in over 20,000 apps on more than 1.4 billion devices.

Local marketing startup Privy brought on Jim Schuchart as its new VP of sales. Schuchart comes straight from high-growth Boston startup InsightSquared, where he helped lead the company to 400 percent year-over-year growth. Said Schuchart in the company’s blog post:

Privy is a rare company with all three asses: a smart-ass team, a kick-ass product and a big-ass market. Given my background in marketing strategy, the opportunity to help companies better manage and measure their marketing activities was extremely compelling.

Online home décor retailer Wayfair announced this week that is has appointed a new SVP and general manager. Steve Oblak will steer the strategy and excution of the ecommerce company’s flagship brand, Wayfair.com. Oblak has been with Wayfair for the past five years, and most recently served as Wayfair’s Vice President of Category Management, a position in which he oversaw catalog management and fostered supplier and manufacturer rapports for Wayfair.com, as well as AllModern and Wayfair Supply. DataGravity brought on a new VP of marketing this week. Jeff Boehm joined the Nashua, New Hamp.-based big data startup from Qlik, where he served as the VP of global product marketing. DataGravity is privately funded by Andreessen Horowitz, Charles River Ventures and General Catalyst Partners. DataGravity has raised $42 million to date and was founded in 2012.

Global product lifecycle company Trace One welcomed Mark Martini as its new VP of North America for its sales and customer development efforts. Martini brings 23 years of sales and sales management experience to his new leadership position at the Boston-headquartered company.

Health and nutrition supplement company NutraClick made two notable internal promotions this week. Jules Sweeney was promoted to VP of people operations, a role in which she’ll be responsible for engaging with top talent, streamlining hiring procedures, overseeing the interview process and supporting employee retention efforts. Brett Bernier was also promoted to VP of scientific affairs. Since he joined the startup in 2010, Bernier has led the product development team in formulating all Force Factor, Peak Life, Stages of Beauty, Femme Factor and ProbioSlim products.
