Hundreds of companies headed down to Austin, Texas last week for this year's SXSW Interactive week. But only one walked away with the bragging rights to "Best Bootstrapped Company."

Somerville startup Sensible Baby brought the aforementioned accolade home to Boston on Tuesday. The four-person company was accepted into SXSW Accelerator Awards, which took place on Sunday, March 9th.

The MassChallenge alum promises to provide piece of mind to parents with its SmartOne sensor, which can track and record a baby's movements – and lack thereof – as well as his or her temperature, sleeping positions and breathing.

Though they didn't take home the top prize, Sensible Baby landed in the top three in the Health category, the company's Co-founder and CEO Ben Cooper told BostInno.

"I honestly am so proud," said Cooper of the win. "I think one of the most humbling awards is being recognized for your hustle and staying on the grind and being creative with what you have."

Though the startup hasn't accepted a dime of equity, it has won $10,000 from Founder.org and a few thousand from other small competitions. Sensible Baby is currently getting ready for its beta and hopes to launch the product by the end of summer 2014. No news on whether they'll be looking to raise a full round of funding, but Cooper stated that "We're now looking for partner to support or vision."

With the award in the bag, Cooper and the Sensible Baby crew are looking forward to making the most of their last days at SXSW.

"I actually met Ben Horowitz yesterday. He's extremely genuine and an incredible role model for entrepreneurs," said Cooper. Next on his list to meet is Mark Cuban. "I just love his flair for the startup world and entrepreneurship, noted the executive.
