Snagging the attention of venture capitalists and angels for your pitch can be tough in Boston. And given the number of entrepreneurs headed down to Austin for SXSW, one can only imagine that the pool of talent vying for some VC time becomes all the more competitive in the Texas town.
Fortunately, this marketing gimmick is working in young – and witty – startups' favors.
California-based family communications app Life360 is partnering up with BMW to give up to 10 founders the opportunity to spin their startups' value to top investors for 15 minutes in the backseat of a BMW i3. Two of the VCs already signed on are Christine Herron from Intel Capital and Ethan Kurzweil from Bessemer Ventures.
Think you can craft your company's pitch into a pithy 140-characters? Interested companies can enter the contest by tweeting their startup pitch @Life360 and @BMWiUSA, and include the hashtag #PitchaVC. The pitch can include a link, photo or video, but all must be submitted by Wednesday, March 5.
We've all heard about elevator pitches, but backseat pitches? Hey, if it steals us 15 minutes of time in front of top investors, we're not going to complain.
