Why Was the World So Wild for Wearables This Week?

It’s not news that tech you can sport on your wrists, face and person in general are trendy. But in the last five days, everyone seems to have turned their attention towards the release of the latest devices destined to hit the market in the coming months.

From Boston to Barcelona, companies have been teasing tech nerds and fitness fans by rolling out new gadgets all week long.

Actually keeping to your New Years’ resolution to stay mindful of your health and bring down your blood pressure? There will soon be an wearable for that.

Trying to catch all the rays you can to avoid these damn New England winter blues? There’s booze for that. Just kidding (sort of). There’s a wearable for that too.

Want to have a digital trainer yelling at you to push on through pain when you’re cranking away reps at the gym? There are multiple – maybe too many – wearables for that.

Why now? Perhaps the Mobile World Conference on Monday contributed to this hype. Maybe folks are just tired of being cooped up all winter long with the O.G. of smart devices – their computers – streaming Oscars films, and want to mix it up.

Geek out over the latest wearable goodies that made headlines this week.
