Boston Drupal community platform company Acquia announced on Tuesday its 2013 growth data.
For the past few years, this Boston anchor company with a culture that "inspires a little crazy" has been a particularly strong performer; 2013 proved to be no different.
Acquia's revenue has grown for 19 consecutive quarters; over the last 12 months, year-over-year revenue jumped up 51 percent, helping the company hit its highest record revenues ever reported.
Paralleling the company's increased growth, the Acquia team also grew. In the past year the firm went from 280 to 400 employees worldwide.
Acquia's growth didn't go unnoticed, however. On a local level, we awarded this burgeoning business a winner within the Marketing and Advertising category at 50onFire, an event in which we recognize the hottest disruptive companies and individuals in Boston. Nationally, Deloitte named Acquia the fastest growing private company in North America on its Technology Fast 500 list, boasting a five-year sales growth of more than 84,100 percent.
Acquia also added 87 new partners in the last quarter, bringing the total number of global partners to 800, including new additions like Perficient, iSite Design, HUGE, Inc., Mindtree, Clarion Technologies, CollabraLink Technologies, Inc, and Group FMG.
As for 2014, Acquia CTO and Co-founder Dries Buytaert shared that the firm has a few new things planned:
Drupal adoption has seen significant growth in the last year, evidenced by the uptick in the number of customers leveraging Acquia's world-class tools and support to guide them through a successful Drupal migration. This year, we're working toward the release of Drupal 8, the most enterprise-ready version of Drupal yet. It's going to be another exciting year.
