Today, the Hub became the home of the country's first Bitcoin ATM and Kiosk.

BostInno was notified in a tweet that a kiosk for the digital currency's management had been installed in South Station.  According to the tweet, one of the individual's involved with the Bitcoin ATM's installment is Siemens Venture Capital associate and Wharton MBA candidate Chris Yim. According to Yim's Twitter bio, he is also the Co-founder of Liberty Teller, which appears to be the company behind the ATM.

There's been much buzz about Bitcoin in the past week. Millions worth of the e-currency was stolen last week due to a major hack on the Silk Road, a deep web marketplace.

But despite the digital dough's drama, many from Boston's business and tech community have stood by Bitcoin. Brightcove founder and serial entrepreneur Jeremy Allaire broke ground on and raised $9 million for his latest venture Circle Internet Financial, a Bitcoin wallet and trading platform. Not to mention that MIT is home to one of the largest student-run cryptocurrency groups in the U.S.

The installation of the first digital currency ATM in the country, however, builds Boston's rapport with Bitcoin even bigger. But will the physical presence of the digital currency encourage more Bostonians to buy up Bitcoin?

We are in touch with Yim, and will update the article accordingly.
