Hiring in the Hub 1/30-2/6: Nanigans, DataXu & Techstars Boston

Fairly slow week for Boston's business elite. Catch up on who's going where below.

In coordination with its raise of $10 million, DataXu announced that it has brought on Dan Demmer to its board of directors. Formerly the president of Endeca, Demmer is currently a partner at local VC firm OpenView Venture Partners. With more than 25 years of experience in leading companies to rapid revenue growth and IPO preparation, the addition of Demmer seems to be a promising sign that the company is creeping toward its initial public offering. Nanigans announced it has added Cyrille Even as a managing director of its newly opened office in Singapore. Prior to joining the Boston-headquarted firm, Even held executive roles in a number of Asian companies, including CEO of Boonty Asia Pte Ltd, CEO of Café.com Asia, as well as COO of Mobileway. Said Marc Grabowski, COO of Nanigans, in the release:

Adding Cyrille as Managing Director, who has a successful track record of building teams and developing go-to-market strategy plans specifically in Asia is a great first step for us in the region, with many more to follow.

Barry Hume joined Package Concierge, a startup that alerts you via text when a package arrives in your mailbox, as a co-founder and president this week. Previously, Hume was the managing director of Primal Manufacturing, a luxury packaging company where he started the US operations.

And now for some hot goss ...

We wrote in our daily tech newsletter, the BostInno Beat, that current Techstars' directors Katie Rae and Reed Sturtevant are trying to raise a new fund for Project 11 Ventures – a move which Techstars is reportedly supportive of. Apparently, Techstars has already hired new people to take over the day-to-day operations while also working alongside and learning from Rae and Sturtevant.
