Social media management platform HootSuite announced on Wednesday that it has acquired uberVU, an social analytics company based in Cambridge. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“By joining HootSuite we are realizing our vision to bring analytics to the front and center of the social business,” said Mark Pascarella, CEO of uberVU, in the release. “This acquisition is a testament to the strength of our platform, and we are thrilled to be part of HootSuite’s exciting story.”
uberVU keeps an impressive clientele of more than 200 enterprise customers including 3M, NBC, Heinz, Fujitsu, SC Johnson, Getty Images, indiegogo, L’Occitane among others.
It seems that the deal is an acqui-hire. Reads the release, "In uberVU, HootSuite gains a best-in-class analytics product and a dedicated team of world-class engineers."
HootSuite’s acquisition of uberVU will accelerate and expand its analytics roadmap for HootSuite Enterprise customers, which make up over 75 percent of the Fortune 1000 companies.
Started in 2008, uberVU currently employs 22. The company participated in European startup accelerator Seedcamp, in which uberVU was selected as the program's winner and received 50,000 euros. In 2009, uberVU raised 400,000 euros from Eden Ventures. In USD, uberVU has secured $586,000 in total funding.
